Loan and Debt Restructuring

Is Loan and Debt Restructuring the Right Debt Relief Solution for You?

When people find themselves in a difficult financial situation, they will try almost anything before they consider bankruptcy. They often feel that bankruptcy is somehow wrong or that they are committing a crime by having to seek relief from an unmanageable debt load. Many people will try various forms of debt or loan restructuring to find some relief, but few get the results they need.

If you are having a hard time keeping up with your monthly bills, you would be well advised to talk to an experienced bankruptcy lawyer about the various options that are available to you and how filing for bankruptcy might be able to help. At the Price Law Firm, we represent clients throughout central Florida in a variety of consumer bankruptcy matters. We will take the time to help you understand the bankruptcy process and the benefits it can provide.

Consider Chapter 13 Bankruptcy

Filing for Chapter 13 provides many of the same benefits as other forms of debt restructuring. In many cases, though, it comes with a number of additional benefits that traditional methods can’t offer. Perhaps most important is the automatic stay. Once you file for bankruptcy, your creditors are required to stop all collection activity, including phone calls, letters and lawsuits.

Within a Chapter 13 filing, we can restructure your loans. There are a number of adjustments that may be able to be made to mortgages, including reducing the amount of the mortgage to the value of the property, changing the interest rate and, if the property is not your primary residence, possibly extending the duration of the loan. We can also make adjustments to auto loans in a Chapter 13, including the possibility of changing the interest rate.
